AI Transparency
AI you can trust, on your terms.
We believe AI should make your work easier without ever putting your data at risk. That is why every AI feature on CTSO Central is opt-in, why we never train models on your data, and why we are transparent about how and where AI is used.
Opt-in only, always
AI features are off by default. Nothing happens until an admin chooses to turn it on, so you stay in control of when and where AI is used.
We never train on your data
Your data is never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. The information you store on CTSO Central is yours, and it stays that way.
You see when AI is involved
We are clear about where AI is used. When a feature relies on AI, we tell you, so there are no surprises about how your data is processed.
Humans stay in charge
AI assists, people decide. Our AI features are built to support your team, never to replace the judgment of the admins and advisors who run your organization.
Our approach
How we approach AI features
We think about AI in terms of how it helps your team, and every one of these is something you choose to turn on. Nothing runs automatically.
Saving time on routine work
When you enable it, AI can help with repetitive tasks like drafting and summarizing, so your team spends less time on busywork and more time on members.
Surfacing insights
Opt in and AI can help you make sense of your data, highlighting patterns and trends that would be hard to spot on your own across thousands of records.
Flagging anomalies
When turned on, AI can flag things that look unusual so your team can review them. People always make the final call on what to do next.
Providers
The models behind our AI
When AI features are enabled, your data may be processed by trusted AI providers. We name them openly, and every provider works under terms that prohibit training on your data.
Frontier models by OpenAI and Anthropic
These power our generative capabilities like drafting, summarizing, and answering questions. We use them under enterprise and API terms that prohibit training on your data, so your information is processed to help you, never to improve their models.
Specialized detection by Winston AI and GPTZero
These are AI-content-detection tools that support academic integrity by flagging AI-generated content in submissions and exams. They connect to our secure testing and competitive event evaluation tools, and they too operate under terms that prohibit training on your data.
Control
You're in control
AI is something you switch on, not something that switches on for you. Admins decide what is enabled, and you can change your mind at any time.
Admin opt-in toggles
Every AI feature is controlled by an admin toggle. Your organization decides exactly which capabilities are turned on, and they all start off by default until you choose otherwise.
Turn AI off or revoke access anytime
Changed your mind? You can turn any AI feature off or revoke access at any time. The control stays with you, with no waiting periods and no fine print.

Many of the people in your records are students, and some are minors. We treat their information with particular rigor. Every commitment on this page applies with extra care to student data, because the trust you place in us is the trust families place in you.
